Portland Design Events Lecture Series Call for Sponsors

PORTLAND, OR (May 2, 2018) – Following the overwhelming success of its first two events, Portland Design Events is pleased to announce a continuation of its popular Lecture Series program, with three more events planned in 2018. As the program continues to grow, more opportunities have become available for Portland-area firms, businesses, contractors, manufacturers, product representatives, and others to get involved, helping to support the series through sponsorship.

The series launched last fall with the principals from LMS Architects presenting Designing for Change, opened by local architect Amanda Petretti of Studio Petretti. This spring, the series continued with architect Billie Faircloth of KieranTimberlake presenting Collective Inquiry, opened by Allison Bryan of Portland-based Open Studio Collective.

The lecture series moves forward, welcoming Hip Hop Architect Michael Ford in June, and a November event featuring Matthew Kreilich, FAIA of Snow Kreilich Architects, recipient of the 2018 AIA Firm of the Year award. A third event is planned for September, with a presenter yet-to-be-announced.

As Portland Design Events continues to be the sole group to regularly bring outside, top-tier lectures to Portland’s design community, a deep and wide-reaching network of volunteers, supporters, and sponsors is vital to make the series happen.

Sponsorship of the Series offers the opportunity to invest in Portland’s design community, allowing students, professionals, and members of the public the chance to gain inspiration and learn insights that they can bring back to their practice. The series also offers community-building through a social hour before the event, and allows for talented emerging designers to gain exposure as they open each lecture as a cornerstone of the series format.

The 2018 Sponsor Program is available now, containing full information and levels in which companies and individuals can get involved. In contrast to previous events, sponsorship is now sold annually, meaning that a sponsorship purchase covers all events during the remainder of the calendar year. A purchase before the June lecture will yield sponsorship for all three remaining 2018 events, reaching 600 in-person attendees and several thousand website views.

For full details about sponsorship levels, methods of payment, or any other questions, please refer to the Sponsor Program or contact Portland Design Events Founder John Maternoski at john@portlanddesign.org.
