2019 IIDA Oregon NEXT Breakfast
The IIDA Oregon Chapter invites you to NEXT, a breakfast keynote featuring insights of thought leaders from the design industry and beyond. This years event will feature three special guest speakers, Dan Viens, Creative Director at Wieden+Kennedy, Traci Sym, Principal at plus & greater than and Laura E. Hall, Founder at Timberview Productions.
Learn how people are having a difficult time “getting lost” in a fast paced digital world, one where our every move is tracked and we’re pushed more into bubbles that reinforce what we already think. The digital platforms and tools of today give us what they think we want based on what we’ve done before. Their core belief is that we’ll discover more of who we are based on who we’ve already been. Instead, we’ll explore the power of getting lost and look at how setting out into the unknown is often the most thrilling and rewarding experience we can have.
We’ll discuss how design can explore surprise, delight and strangeness to help people see the world from an entirely different perspective. We’ll look at the burgeoning world of experiential design and how it’s bringing interactivity, empathy and exploration into our work and lives.
At the very least we’ll change how you think about, “getting lost.”
Registration includes breakfast.
