Ipek Türeli on “Small” Architectures in a Global Context
Portland State University School of Architecture and Center for Public Interest Design are proud to welcome Ipek Türeli, Distinguished Visiting Professor, as speaker at Fridays@4 on November 9.
This talk will problematize ‘small’ architectures in a global context. It will offer a historical framework for the discussion of architectures of spatial justice in both the Global North and the Global South. This talk is based on Dr. Tureli’s article “‘Small’ Architectures, Walking and Camping in Middle Eastern Cities,” International Journal of Islamic Architecture 2, no. 1 (2013): 5.
Dr. Türeli will also give a lecture at CPID Talks on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.
The CPID talks are aimed at fostering a dialogue about interesting work being done that is relevant to the public interest design field by inviting speakers from a wide variety of disciplines to share their work and thoughts in an informal setting. These talks are open to the public and held in the School of Architecture at PSU. Following the talk, attendees are invited to participate in a discussion on the work.
