Risograph Basics with Kate Bingaman-Burt
Welcome to the Risograph Basics, Collage Experimentation and Mark Making Extravaganza!
Participants will take home and edition of 15, 2-color 11×17 prints of your own design plus one print from all of the workshop participants (your own starter print collection!)
Come and get to know Outlet’s Barbara the Risograph as well as her new sister Jolene!
Want to learn what Risograph printing is? Want to meet others who do too? Come and learn all about the basics of the Risograph in our two-color introduction workshop. The workshop will kick off with a Show & Tell of exactly what a Risograph can do with a printing demo, print and zine samples and a general exploration of how we can get the best results from this amazing printing machine.
Workshop fee is on a sliding scale of $50-$65 (the ticket is donation, so please input your price at check out). All materials, including paper and mark making supplies are included. This fee also grants you access to Barbara and Jolene during our weekly open hours for your future printing projects.
It’s a printing party and you are invited. Register HERE!
This workshop is lead by Kate Bingaman-Burt
About Outlet PDX
Outlet is the studio space of Kate Bingaman-Burt.
Welcome! Outlet opened its doors this April during Design Week Portland. The main floor is for workshops, pop-up events, and provides additional space for my larger projects. Barbara the Risograph lives here as well as my ever-growing zine library (I can’t stop, won’t stop collecting zines). There’s also a collection of art and publishing supplies and other materials for making (happy to share, always).
Upstairs is my private office where I draw for myself and for my clients (and write lots of email and get distracted by social media).
Outlet has open hours for workshop students to use the risographs as well as for people to browse the zine library or to visit our small shop. Come an visit us Sunday 1-5, Tuesday 5-8, Wednesday 2-5 and Friday 12-5. You can find us at 2500 NE Sandy Boulevard, STE E, Portland, Oregon, 97232 (also, I love mail if you happen to have any zines you would like to share. SUBTLE HINT AMIRITE?)
I’m am also happy to conduct private group workshops outside of the scheduled ones. These workshops range from zine making, to drawing, to printing on the risograph to something custom that we come up with together. For a sneak peek of my teaching style and experience, take a look at my class page and also hop over to the risograph page!
